HINESBURG — Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg increased its security measures following a threat involving an individual from outside the school community. The incident was reported at approximately 9:35 a.m. on Friday.
The Hinesburg Police Department, upon receiving the report, requested assistance from the Vermont State Police.
Both troopers and police officers were promptly dispatched to the school. In response to the situation, the high school heightened its security protocols, particularly concerning access to the building.
Despite the increased security measures, classes at CVU continued as scheduled, and dismissal will occur at the regular time.
Police presence will be maintained on the school premises for the remainder of the day to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.
Due to the involvement of minors, no further details regarding the nature of the threat or the individuals involved have been released.
The situation is currently under investigation by local law enforcement.
