FAIR HAVEN — A collision involving a Fair Haven Police Department cruiser and a Volvo S60 occurred on the US Route 4 on-ramp near exit 3 on Feb. 4 at 7:37 a.m.
Troopers responded to the incident in clear weather and on dry road conditions.
Rodney Bresee, 53, from Middle Grove, NY, was operating the 2009 Chevrolet Impala police cruiser when he attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the Volvo driven by Nancy Waitkus, 74, of Fair Haven.
As both vehicles were coming to a stop, the front end of the police cruiser collided with the rear bumper of the Volvo.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and did not sustain any injuries.
No hospitalization was necessary.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
