HOLBROOK — After several weeks of being marooned in a challenging terrain, a mysterious vehicle reported off the roadway near 872 Plymouth St. has been successfully recovered, Holbrook Police Department confirmed.
On Jan. 14, officers responded to calls about an abandoned vehicle in the area.
Due to the surrounding wet and frozen marshland, they were unable to reach the car directly.
Utilizing binoculars, law enforcement personnel were able to view the license plate and verify that the vehicle was empty.
The incident sparked curiosity and concern among locals, leading to numerous calls to the police regarding the off-road vehicle.
It wasn’t until Feb. 2 that weather conditions finally permitted Lynch’s Towing Service to safely extricate the vehicle from the marsh.
Further details surrounding the circumstances of the vehicle’s abandonment and the owner’s identity have not been released pending an ongoing investigation.
