CAMBRIDGE — Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots near Danehy Park around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, initially indicating more than eight shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings at the intersection of Field and Fern Streets, near the park’s entrance.
Despite the evidence of gunfire, no victims or witnesses were located at the scene.
Overnight investigations by Patrol Operations and Detectives have confirmed the location of the shooting, but the exact number of shots fired and the number of firearms involved remain under investigation.
Authorities have found no injuries or evidence of anyone being harmed as a result of the incident.
The Cambridge Police Department is continuing to investigate the matter and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
