BRIDPORT — Addison County State’s Attorney Eva Vekos was arrested for DUI – Refusal by Vermont State Police on the night of Jan. 24.
Vekos, 54, from Middlebury, arrived at a crime scene on Swinton Road in Bridport, where she was expected to respond as part of an ongoing investigation.
Upon her arrival, state troopers noticed signs of impairment, including an odor of intoxicants and slurred speech. Vekos declined to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested.
She was transported to the New Haven barracks for processing and released with a citation.
Her arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 12, at the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Middlebury.
At the barracks, police say Vekos refused to comply with fingerprinting and photography procedures.
