ST. JOHNSBURY — An autopsy completed Thursday confirmed the death of 38-year-old Christina Chatlos as a homicide, according to the Vermont State Police.

Chatlos, a resident of Williamstown and Barre, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the torso, the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington reported after the autopsy on Jan. 25.

The state police, who are leading the investigation into the incident that occurred earlier this week, have not released further details about potential suspects or the circumstances leading to Chatlos’s death.

They continue to seek information from the public and urge anyone with knowledge of the case to contact the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.

The investigation remains active as detectives interview witnesses, canvass the neighborhood, and analyze video evidence.

The Crime Scene Search Team was also seen processing the area of 510 Portland St., where the victim’s body was discovered inside a vehicle with bullet holes.

Although two individuals have been detained on unrelated out-of-state warrants during the course of the investigation, no information has been provided about their possible connection to the case.
