TEWKSBURY — Police Chief Ryan Columbus announced the arrest of a second man by the Tewksbury Police Department in connection with a Dec. 26 break-in at a residence on Overlook Drive.

Philip Carter, 41, of Chelmsford, faces charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime and larceny of a motor vehicle.

The incident, which occurred last December, involved the theft of various valuable items from the home, including jewelry and electronics, as well as a black Mazda Miata from the driveway.

Authorities say the break-in was executed by two individuals who entered through a ground-level window after removing an air conditioner while the homeowners were away.

Following the release of surveillance video footage to the public, the Tewksbury Police received multiple tips that contributed to the identification of the suspects.

This information led to the prior arrest of Dana Sacca, 41, of Tewksbury, who was charged with similar offenses.

The continued investigation ultimately resulted in an arrest warrant for Carter, who was located and taken into custody on Wednesday at a hotel in Salem, N.H.

Salem Police Department provided assistance in the arrest.

Carter is set to be arraigned in New Hampshire as a fugitive from justice.
