HOLLIS — A Somerville, Massachusetts man was arrested on charges of aggravated driving under the influence early this morning after nearly colliding with a patrol car, according to the Hollis Police Department.

Scott McDonnell, 57, was observed by a Hollis officer swerving dangerously across Broad St. around 12:10 a.m., prompting a traffic stop.

The officer reported a strong smell of alcohol emanating from McDonnell’s vehicle upon contact.

McDonnell attempted standardized field sobriety tests but was unable to complete them due to his impairment level.
