Two arrested in Enosburg theft spree

ENOSBURG — After a series of thefts, Vermont State Police have apprehended two suspects for their alleged involvement in motor vehicle theft and burglary.

On Jan. 1, at approximately 12:49 p.m., police received a report of a stolen black Nissan truck from Dickenson Avenue.

Trooper Van Woert led the investigation into the vehicle theft.

A subsequent theft on Jan. 16, around 9:28 a.m., involved the burglary of a West Enosburg Road shed where a salamander style heater was reported missing.

Trooper Bellinghiri took the lead in this case.

Investigations into both incidents identified Anthony Mason, 29, of Bakersfield, and Oliviah Ovitt, 27, of Enosburg, as the suspects.

Police located and arrested the duo at a Bakersfield residence without incident.

Mason faces charges including Aggravated Operation Without Owner’s Consent, Burglary, and Larceny.

He was lodged at the Northwest Correctional Center.

Ovitt received a flash citation for Accessory to Burglary and is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m.
