RUSSELL — Multiple emergency response teams, including Russell-Montgomery Police, Massachusetts State Police, Russell Fire Department, and Hilltown Community Ambulance Association, were dispatched this morning at 9 a.m. to a report of a vehicle accident on Rt 23.
Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle that had veered off the road, over a guardrail, and became lodged between the guardrail and a tree.
The vehicle’s airbags were deployed during the incident.
The driver, initially trapped inside the car, was able to exit through the rear hatch with the aid of passers-by.
The individual was subsequently transported to Baystate Noble Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Authorities have expressed gratitude to the Chester-Blandford Police Department for their support in responding to the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.
