HYDE PARK — Officers assigned to the District E-18 Drug Control Unit arrested 23-year-old Jahzyme Richardson of Randolph on Tuesday, January 9, after recovering a loaded firearm and drugs during a patrol at a local skate park.
The arrest followed increased patrols in response to a rise in quality of life complaints within the area.
Richardson’s vehicle was spotted parked in the skate park lot, where officers witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction between Richardson and an individual in a second vehicle.
Upon questioning and a search of Richardson and his vehicle, officers found a black Springfield Armory XD 40 Caliber pistol loaded with seven rounds in the magazine, one in the chamber, and a duffle bag containing packages of marijuana prepared for distribution.
Richardson faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, possession of a firearm during a felony, and distribution of Class D.
He is set to be arraigned at West Roxbury District Court.
