KILLINGTON — A two-vehicle accident occurred on January 8 at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Killington Road near Snowshed Lodge, resulting in moderate to significant vehicle damage and minor injuries.

According to the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks, 69-year-old Paul Tupay of Wayne, New Jersey, was exiting the Snowshed Lodge parking lot in his 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

As Tupay attempted to turn left onto Killington Road, he collided with a northbound 2012 Toyota Highlander driven by 48-year-old Jeffrey Tilley of Arlington.

Tilley, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident, reported no injuries.

His passenger, 18-year-old Sarah Tilley, also from Arlington, experienced minor neck pain but did not require hospitalization.

Both vehicles sustained damage, with Tupay’s Jeep having moderate damage to the left fender and Tilley’s Highlander suffering significant damage to the front end.

The Killington Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service responded to the scene to assist.

The clear weather conditions did not prevent the road from being wet and snowy at the time of the crash, which is being attributed to Tupay pulling onto the roadway unsafely.

No further information regarding the crash has been released as the investigation is ongoing.
