FRANKLIN — A 39-year-old Weymouth man was killed this afternoon, Jan. 5, when his vehicle crashed and rolled over on Route 495 northbound near exit 41.
State Police-Foxborough Barracks patrols responded around 3:30 p.m. to reports of a collision.
Troopers discovered the man had been ejected from his vehicle, which had rolled multiple times.
They immediately attempted life-saving measures until Franklin Fire and EMS personnel arrived and transported the victim to Milford Hospital.
The man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident was not injured.
The State Police-Foxborough Barracks, along with the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police Detectives from Troop H, are investigating the crash.
Traffic on Route 495 was disrupted for approximately two and a half hours, with the left and center lanes closed until the scene was cleared around 6 p.m.
