NASHUA — A man was stabbed in a parking lot on Chandler Street Thursday morning, prompting a heavy response from emergency services.

At approximately 11:15 a.m., Nashua Fire Rescue, local police, and AMR ambulance teams arrived at the scene near 36 Chandler St. to find a 43-year-old man with stab wound(s) to his chest.

The victim was immediately transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center following a trauma alert request.

Authorities cordoned off the area as detectives began their investigation.

A considerable amount of blood, clothing, and medical supplies were visible at the site.

Nashua Police have identified the suspect in the stabbing as 40-year-old Nathan Hill, a resident of Chandler Street.

Hill has been charged with first-degree assault and was found to have an outstanding electronic bench warrant for an unspecified charge.

Initial reports suggest that the victim was not a resident of the building but was part of a construction crew working on the property when the incident occurred.

Despite the severity of his injuries, law enforcement officials reported that the man underwent surgery Thursday afternoon and is expected to make a recovery.

Hill is currently being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on preventative detention.

His arraignment is tentatively scheduled for Friday at the Hillsborough County Superior Court Southern District.
