MAYNARD — A motor vehicle veered off course and slammed into Christmas Motors today, leaving the driver trapped and in need of rescue.
The Maynard Police Department and the Maynard Fire Department were dispatched to the scene following reports of the crash.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel and subsequently taken to a local hospital by the Acton Fire Department for evaluation.
CBK Towing arrived shortly after the incident to remove the vehicle from the crash site.
To assess the extent of the damage to the building, a building inspector was notified and made their way to the location.
After the initial response and site management, control of the scene was handed over to the owner of Christmas Motors.
The Maynard Police Department issued a statement expressing gratitude to the Acton Fire Department for their aid during the emergency.
The condition of the driver and the structural integrity of the building are currently being assessed.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
