BOSTON — A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday morning on firearm-related charges after being found with a gun at a Back Bay school, Boston Police say.
The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. at 150 Newbury Street.
Officers from District D-4 responded to reports of a student carrying a firearm.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by school staff who had received a tip about a student possibly armed.
A search of the student’s backpack by school officials revealed a Taurus firearm with a magazine containing ten rounds.
The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device, as well as carrying a firearm on school grounds.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court.
