MORETOWN — Troopers are investigating a retail theft that occurred at Aubuchon Hardware on Mason Drive, with the incident being reported on Christmas Eve.
According to authorities, the theft took place sometime during the week before Dec. 24, when multiple items were reported missing from the hardware store’s inventory.
The identity of the accused remains unknown, and Vermont State Police have released a photo of a person of interest in connection with the theft.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.

The police have not disclosed the total value of the stolen items as the investigation continues.
