PITTSFORD — A local woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a single-vehicle accident on VT RT 3 near Dawn Meadow Lane on Dec. 22.
Vermont State Police responded to the crash at approximately 5:08 p.m. and identified the driver as 58-year-old Mary Wickes of Pittsford.
Troopers observed signs of impairment during their interaction with Wickes, who was then operating her vehicle.
Wickes received medical attention at the scene and was transported by ambulance to Rutland Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
After her release from the hospital, she was taken into custody for DUI and processed at the State Police Barracks in Rutland.
Following processing, Wickes was released with a citation to appear at the Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division to respond to the DUI charge at a later scheduled date.
