Rochester resident reports grand larceny, police seek information

ROCHESTER — A local resident fell victim to a grand larceny after an unidentified individual allegedly stole multiple items from an unlocked vehicle parked at 4609 Route 100, according to the Vermont State Police.

The theft was reported on the morning of Dec. 18, after the resident, identified as Joseph Russo, discovered that between the late afternoon of Dec. 16 and the morning of Dec. 18, someone had entered his vehicle and taken various belongings.

The stolen items include winter gloves, a quantity of US currency, an Il-Ceppo Tobacco Pipe made from Italian Briar Wood, and a 9mm handgun Taurus G3.

Authorities were notified of the incident at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Dec. 18.

The Vermont State Police have since been seeking assistance from the public to identify the suspect or suspects involved in this crime.

The State Police Barracks in Royalton are handling the ongoing investigation and encourage anyone who may have information related to the theft to come forward.
