OAK BLUFFS — A 25-year-old woman faces charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding after being stopped by Oak Bluffs police for driving 80 mph in a 40 mph zone on Barnes Road near the Herring Run.
The incident occurred last night at 10:14 p.m., when the patrol officer noted the vehicle’s excessive speed, especially dangerous due to rain puddles on the roadway.
The Oak Bluffs Police Department reminds drivers to always operate vehicles safely and adhere to posted speed limits.
