1 min read

SHREWSBURY — A large menorah that graced the Shrewsbury Town Common was found damaged on the morning of Dec. 11, following a night of heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts reaching 39 mph.

The Shrewsbury Police Department, responding to reports about the fallen religious symbol, initially conducted a thorough investigation to rule out any possibility of vandalism.

With the aid of security camera footage from surrounding businesses, authorities determined the menorah was not intentionally damaged but was instead knocked over by the inclement weather.

Community members and local businesses were acknowledged by the police for their cooperation, which helped swiftly conclude the investigation and alleviate concerns of potential foul play.
