HUNTINGTON — A local man was arrested on charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, according to the Vermont State Police.
Cody Purinton, 33, of Huntington, was taken into custody on Dec. 12 after an investigation that began on Nov. 8.
The investigation by state troopers into domestic allegations revealed probable cause that Purinton assaulted a domestic partner over the past year in Huntington.
Following his arrest, Purinton was processed at the Williston Barracks.
He was given conditions of release and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden Criminal Division, on Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.
The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim in accordance with their policy on incidents of sexual assault or domestic violence.
