BOSTON — Boston detectives recovered a loaded firearm equipped with a high-capacity “drum” magazine during a search operation in the area of Bowdoin Street at about 4:27 p.m. on Monday, December 11.
As part of an ongoing firearms investigation, officers assigned to District C-11 executed a search warrant and located a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol with a chambered round and 17 additional rounds in the magazine.
Further search led to the discovery of a separate 9mm drum magazine, loaded with 42 rounds of ammunition.
Jahnine Francois, a 20-year-old Boston resident, was already in police custody due to a prior incident at the time of the discovery.
Francois is set to face additional charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.
Francois is expected to be arraigned at the Dorchester District Court on the new charges.
