WAKEFIELD — New Hampshire authorities successfully apprehended Jesse Robert Hermonat, 26, a former Fugitive of the Week, who was wanted for a parole violation related to an assault by prisoner charge.
Hermonat, who had been on the run, was highlighted as the Department of Corrections’ Fugitive of the Week on Sept. 20, leading to a crucial tip from the public regarding his whereabouts.
Acting on the information, Probation and Parole officers, in collaboration with Wakefield Police Department, located Hermonat at an East Wakefield residence on Dec. 7.
He was arrested without incident and is now detained at the Carroll County House of Corrections awaiting further proceedings.
The New Hampshire Department of Corrections has expressed gratitude to the Wakefield Police Department and the citizens who aided in Hermonat’s capture.
Launched in March, the Fugitive of the Week program aims to leverage public involvement to track down fugitives.
Each Wednesday, a new individual is featured, information is disseminated through various channels, and coordination with law enforcement is conducted through the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center.
