VERGENNES — A joint investigation by the Vermont State Police and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) has led to the arrest of a Vergennes man on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The investigation, which began in October, uncovered evidence of sexual assault that occurred several years prior.
Kori Martell, 32, of Vergennes, was taken into custody on Dec. 7 and appeared in Addison Superior Court – Criminal Division.
Martell has been lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility following his court appearance.
The specifics of the allegations have not been disclosed, and the Vermont State Police do not release the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
The case remains under investigation.
