MANCHESTER — Police arrested an Uber driver after he allegedly pointed a gun at a customer during a dispute over payment late Tuesday night.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Elm and Merrimack Streets following a report that a driver had brandished a firearm at a passenger.
According to the customer, the confrontation began after he was picked up and an argument over payment ensued.
During the altercation, the driver, later identified as 46-year-old Victor Jimenez of Manchester, allegedly reached into the glove box, pulled out a gun, and threatened the customer.
Fearing for his safety, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Jimenez is reported to have followed the man for a short distance before ceasing pursuit.
Authorities located Jimenez’s vehicle a short time later and took him into custody without incident.
He has been charged with criminal threatening with a firearm.
The Manchester Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
