CONCORD — A young driver was arrested on Dec. 6 after speeding more than double the limit on Interstate 93 and now faces multiple charges, New Hampshire State Police said.
Jacob Riley Hebert, 19, of Laconia, was caught driving 124 mph in a 65 mph zone around 11:58 p.m. by Trooper Tyler Griffin of the New Hampshire State Police Troop D barracks, authorities reported.
Griffin managed to pull over Hebert’s vehicle about 3 miles south from where he initially spotted the speeding car.
During the stop, Griffin discovered three other passengers in the car, including a child under 16.
Hebert was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, reckless operation, transporting alcoholic beverages by a minor, reckless conduct, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Two passengers were also taken into custody for unlawful possession and intoxication, as well as open container violations, according to police.
After being bailed and released, Hebert and the two passengers are set to appear in Concord District Court in January.
