EAST CALAIS — A man was shot late Monday night in the Town of East Calais and is currently being treated at the University of Vermont Medical Center, police said.
Vermont State Police responded to reports of a shooting at about 11:44 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Upon arrival, they found a male victim who was subsequently transported to the hospital where he remains unresponsive.
Authorities have stated that the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators are treating the incident as isolated with no perceived threat to the general public.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
The Vermont State Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Berlin station or submit a report through the anonymous tip line.
