Orleans man arrested for DUI after striking pedestrian

ORLEANS — A 68-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after hitting a pedestrian with his truck on Main Street in Orleans, Vermont State Police said.

Dexter Domina of Orleans was driving his 2006 Dodge truck east on Main Street around 4:47 p.m. when he struck 55-year-old Jerry Pepin of Brownington.

Police responded to the scene at 64 Main Street following the collision. Upon interaction with Domina, officers noted signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Derby Barracks for processing.

Pepin was transported to North Country Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After processing, Domina was released with a citation to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on Jan. 9 at 8:30 a.m.
