ALBANY — The Albany Municipal Volunteer Fire Department announced the start of its annual holiday raffle, offering residents a chance to win various prizes while supporting local community groups. Raffle tickets can be acquired from any fire department member or at select locations including Bob’s Quick Stop, the Albany Genny, and the town clerk’s office in Irasburg.

Tickets are priced at $5 each or a bundle of five for $20. This year’s raffle features seven prizes, with highlights including two cords of firewood, a new grill tank complete with a free refill, and a yard of compost.

Winners will also have the opportunity to receive gift certificates to various local businesses. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Albany community, with half of the funds going to the fire department.

The remaining proceeds will be split between the school parent teacher committee and the local food shelf, each receiving 25 percent. The drawing for the winners will be held on Dec. 13.

Community members interested in participating or seeking additional information can contact the fire department’s non-emergency line at (802) 755-9240.
