Saint Albans police arrest two in connection with string of armed robberies

ST. ALBANS — Following a series of armed robberies across the city and town, Saint Albans Police Department, with support from the Vermont State Police Tactical Services Unit, arrested two suspects during a search warrant execution in the early morning hours of Dec. 1.

James Ahl, 41, and Alan Talley, 39, both residents of Saint Albans, were taken into custody at a residence on Bishop Street.

Ahl faces charges of armed robbery, a felony, and additional charges of unlawful trespass and another count of armed robbery in connection with a separate case.

Talley has been charged with accessory after the fact, also a felony.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the recent armed robberies, and police have indicated that further charges may be forthcoming.

Talley is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 22, 2024, at 1 p.m., while Ahl was held without bail after his court appearance on Dec. 1.

Further updates on the case are expected as the investigation continues.
