Boston man arrested on firearm charges after threat report

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested a man early Friday morning on firearm-related charges following a report of a person with a gun in Jamaica Plain.

At about 3:50 a.m., officers assigned to District E-13 and B-3 responded to the area of 155 Williams Street after receiving a report that a suspect had threatened a victim with a firearm.

Boston Police operations provided a description of the suspect and the fleeing motor vehicle.

Approximately an hour later, at around 5:03 a.m., officers located the vehicle parked in a bus stop near Blue Hill Avenue and Talbot Avenue.

They observed the operator, Luis Luho, 48, of Boston, and an occupant exit the vehicle.

Both individuals were detained, and officers recovered a firearm from inside the motor vehicle after further investigation.

Luho was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.

The second individual detained during the incident was released from the scene without charges.
