GREENFIELD — Local authorities are alerting residents about a scam involving a fictitious towing company named “Miley Towing,” which has falsely advertised its services online claiming to be based in Greenfield.
Investigations have revealed that the address listed for Miley Towing is an abandoned building on Chapman Street, which is reportedly not suitable for operating a tow service.
Despite the suspicious setup, at least one Franklin County resident has fallen victim to the scam.
Law enforcement is urging the community to exercise caution and to verify the legitimacy of any service company before engaging with them.
