POWNAL — A Bennington man has been cited in connection with a burglary last year where several firearms were stolen from a Pownal residence.
Gavin C. Wilcox, 32, was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on Feb. 12, 2024, at 8:15 a.m. after being linked to a burglary that occurred during the daytime hours of March 19, according to Vermont State Police.
The homeowner, Brian Weyers, 59, reported the break-in and theft of his firearms, prompting an investigation that led authorities to Wilcox.
Evidence including DNA found at the scene and one of the stolen firearms in Wilcox’s possession connected him to the crime.
The case is being processed under Vermont’s burglary law.
