Dorchester man arrested for Back Bay armed robbery

BOSTON — Officers arrested 34-year-old Collin Wallace of Dorchester on charges of armed robbery Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Nov. 21, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 86 Massachusetts Avenue in the Back Bay area.

The suspect, later identified as Wallace, allegedly took money from the cash register and threatened he had a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers were directed by the victim to the fleeing suspect, who was attempting to escape by climbing onto a small roof in a nearby alley.

Wallace was quickly surrounded by police and apprehended without further incident.

During the robbery, Wallace reportedly also claimed to have a bomb and threatened to detonate it unless the victim complied with his demands.

Following his arrest, police recovered the stolen currency.

Wallace faces multiple charges including two counts of armed robbery, bomb threat with serious public alarm, and intimidation of a witness.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Boston Municipal Court.
