HILLSBORO — Police arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after he was reportedly making threatening statements with a gun at a local diner.
Officers responded to the scene at 2:32 p.m. following a call about an individual with a firearm near the diner.
The street was temporarily closed to ensure public safety as police took action.
Marcel Caron, 46, of Hillsboro, was apprehended without incident.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the pistol Caron possessed was loaded and stolen.
Caron, who has a prior felony record, has been charged with being a felon in possession of a pistol.
He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections and is awaiting a court appearance.
