GOSHEN — A Pittsford man was charged with simple assault following an incident on Capen Hill Road early Saturday morning.
Authorities said Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to the reported assault at 12:18 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that 38-year-old Anthony Hall had assaulted Francis Fielder, 42, of Goshen.
Hall was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to the charge.
The motive behind the assault was not immediately clear, and further details about the incident were not released.
The condition of Fielder following the altercation has not been disclosed.
The investigation into the assault is ongoing.
