COLCHESTER — At approximately 4:04 p.m., the Colchester Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call about a male with a gunshot wound on Ethan Allen Avenue.
Officers from the Colchester and Winooski Police Departments responded to the scene and provided immediate care to the victim.
The injured male was swiftly transported to UVM Medical Center by Colchester Rescue, where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
As of now, police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
Authorities are in the preliminary stages of investigating the incident but suggest that the shooting was not a random act.

Due to the ongoing investigation, Ethan Allen Avenue will be closed to traffic until further notice.
