WATERBURY — A man was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after being found asleep in his vehicle on Interstate 89, Vermont State Police said.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks conducting routine patrol spotted a car with emergency flashers on the northbound side of the highway at mile marker 64.8 around 1:44 a.m.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Alejando Dominguez of Essex, appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat when officers approached.
Upon interaction, troopers noted signs of impairment and took Dominguez into custody.
He was processed at the State Police Berlin Barracks and issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on charges of DUI.
Dominguez was released following the issuance of the citation.
