Rockland schools evacuated after bomb threat, no explosives found

ROCKLAND — The Rockland Police Department responded to a bomb threat at Rogers Middle School on Taunton Ave at about 11:40 a.m. on Nov. 15, after two students reported overhearing an unidentified peer claiming to have a bomb in their bag.

Authorities swiftly evacuated students from both Rogers Middle School and the adjacent high school as a precaution.

Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought to the scene to conduct a thorough search of the facilities.

Officials confirmed that no explosives were found.

The Rockland Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
