BRAINTREE — Three adults and a child were taken to a local hospital for evaluation Monday evening after a sedan crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck on Hayward Street.
The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. when the sedan drifted into the opposing lane, leading to the near head-on crash with the oncoming pickup truck, according to authorities.
Brewster Ambulance Service responded to the scene and transported the injured parties to the hospital.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
The Braintree Police Department and Braintree Firefighters arrived shortly after the accident, closing Hayward Street between Commercial Street and Howard Street to manage the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
The road was closed for about an hour, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
Officials have not yet released the names of the individuals involved or any further details regarding the crash.
