WEST YARMOUTH — A violent home invasion early Saturday morning has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call for medical assistance at a Rosetta Street residence at 11:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man with severe burns to his chest, back, and lower extremities.
According to the Yarmouth Police, the suspect, identified as Christian Tenney, had broken into the home through a bathroom window, brandished a knife, and threatened the occupants.
A struggle ensued, during which a pot of boiling water was used as a weapon, resulting in serious burns to both residents.
Tenney fled the scene but was later located and apprehended in Barnstable after a K-9 unit track and officer canvassing.
He faces charges including two counts of home invasion, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and receiving stolen property.
Authorities have emphasized that this was a targeted attack and not a random occurrence, aiming to reassure the community’s safety.
