RUTLAND — A local man was arrested late Saturday night on allegations of domestic assault and other charges after Vermont State Police responded to a reported family dispute.
At 9:54 p.m., troopers arrived at the scene in Rutland Town where they investigated the incident involving Jacob Eells, 28.
Authorities say Eells hindered a victim’s access to emergency services, restrained another person unlawfully, and committed an offense in the presence of a child.
Eells was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.
Following the processing, he was issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division to face the charges.
The exact court date and time will be scheduled later.
The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim, adhering to their policy regarding incidents of sexual assault or domestic violence.
