YARMOUTH — Yarmouth police successfully recovered a stolen car and arrested its driver for drug possession on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3:30 p.m., a Yarmouth Police Detective spotted a silver 2003 Toyota RAV4 on Route 28.
The vehicle was reported stolen from New Hampshire last week.
After alerting dispatch, marked police units were directed to intercept the car.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle in the Baker’s Square area, close to the Barnstable town line.
Upon further investigation, the driver, identified as Joan Cannon of Eastham, was taken into custody.
Cannon is facing charges of receiving stolen property over $1200 and possession of a Class B substance, identified as crack cocaine.
Cannon was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday morning.
