ST. JOHNSBURY — A Maryland woman sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Nov. 9 when her car slid off a slush-covered road and struck a tree.
At approximately 12:04 p.m., emergency responders from St Johnsbury Fire, CALEX Ambulance, and the Vermont State Police were dispatched to 850 Breezy Hill Road after receiving a report of the accident.
The operator, identified as 52-year-old Stacey Wolfe of Millersville, MD, was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision.
She was transported by CALEX ambulance to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) for treatment of her injuries.
According to the investigation, Wolfe’s 2006 Ford Escape did not have winter-rated tires, a factor that contributed to the vehicle’s loss of control in adverse weather conditions.
The car incurred front-end damage upon impact with the tree.
Authorities remind drivers that proper seasonal tires are crucial for safe driving during winter weather conditions.
