BERLIN — A single-car rollover on Interstate 495 Northbound drew a significant emergency response Monday evening, resulting in six people being transported to local hospitals and major traffic delays.
At around 6:30 p.m., officers from the evening shift responded to the accident scene to assist the Massachusetts State Police, along with the Berlin Fire & EMS Department and multiple mutual aid agencies.
The cause of the rollover has not been released, and the condition of the patients is currently unknown.
The names of the injured have not been disclosed pending notification of family members.
Traffic was heavily affected throughout the evening as crews worked to clear the scene.
Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes and reminded to exercise caution when emergency vehicles are present.
