BOURNE — A South Attleboro man was arrested Tuesday night after leading police on a brief chase that ended atop the Bourne Bridge, authorities said.
Jason Pina, 43, was pulled over by Bourne Police for an equipment violation on his black Nissan Altima with Rhode Island plates around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Scenic Highway and Edgehill Road.
During the stop, police discovered Pina had a suspended license and an active warrant for motor vehicle violations.
When informed of his arrest, Pina fled the scene, initiating a pursuit.
The chase continued down Scenic Highway and onto the Bourne Bridge.
It came to an end when Pina stopped his vehicle at the top of the bridge and surrendered to police without further incident.
The Massachusetts State Police assisted in the arrest.
Details on charges faced by Pina or his court date were not immediately available.
The Bourne Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
