NEWPORT CENTER — A North Troy man was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly violating court-ordered conditions of release.
Brent McClure, 34, was found in a restaurant parking lot on VT Route 105 at around 1:55 a.m. by a trooper from the Vermont State Police.
The officer noticed two vehicles in the parking lot, one of which had the driver’s side door wide open. When the trooper investigated, he encountered McClure exiting from the passenger seat of the other car.
According to the trooper, McClure showed significant signs of impairment and attempted to get into his vehicle to drive away.
McClure is known to have active court-ordered conditions of release, including a curfew and an order not to consume alcohol.
He is also required to submit to a Preliminary Breath Test upon reasonable request of law enforcement, which he reportedly did not do.
Following the incident, McClure was taken into custody for violating these conditions.
He was transported to the Derby Barracks for processing and was later released with a citation.
