NASHUA –– Two people were shot early Sunday outside of a Denny’s Restaurant in a strip mall on Gusabel Avenue, according to local authorities.
Nashua Police, Fire, and AMR ambulances responded to the scene at about 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found two individuals with gunshot wounds and immediately began administering medical treatment.
Once the scene was secured, Nashua firefighters and AMR medics transported the victims to local hospitals.
A trauma team activation was requested for one of the victims.
The parking lot outside Denny’s was cordoned off with crime scene tape, with a focus on an Acura and Jeep parked in the back corner.
Clothing, a firearm, and personal belongings were found scattered across the area.
Nashua Police Sgt. John Cinelli confirmed that two people were transported from the scene with gunshot wounds and additional injuries.
The victims, believed to be in their 30s, are expected to survive and are currently being interviewed by detectives.
An employee at Denny’s said the altercation began inside the restaurant before spilling into the parking lot.
Police spent several hours Sunday morning collecting evidence and documenting the scene, with a K-9 unit assisting in the search.
A firearm was recovered near the vehicles and is currently being examined.
The Acura and Jeep found at the scene had New Hampshire and Vermont plates respectively. Their connection to the victims or the shooting is still under investigation.
The restaurant, which closed immediately following the incident, reopened late Sunday morning after the crime scene was cleared.
