Newport police searching for missing 14-Year-old girl

NEWPORT — The Newport Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 14-year-old girl, as reported by Chief Travis Bingham.

Lyllian Bennett was reported missing around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26. A family member raised the alarm when she didn’t disembark from the school bus as anticipated that afternoon.

Bennett was last spotted near 40 Lakemont Road in Newport City. Authorities believe she left the area voluntarily.

Described as standing at 5-foot-1-inch and weighing about 110 pounds, Bennett has shoulder-length dark brown hair and features two nose piercings.

When last seen, she was dressed in a black hoodie adorned with a white butterfly design, complemented by gray pants and white sneakers. Additionally, she was carrying a cream-colored Reebok backpack.

The Newport Police have been combing through Newport City and its neighboring localities since the report came in, soliciting the community’s help in locating the teen.
